Methodology

How we work through each engagement.


Every engagement begins the same way: a thirty-minute introductory conversation in which we listen to the situation and establish whether our work is a genuine fit for what the principal is hoping to understand. We do not pitch or propose at that meeting.

If there is a clear fit, we prepare a brief written proposal — usually one page — that sets out the scope, the fee, the expected timeline, and what the deliverable will contain. Work begins only after the principal has confirmed in writing.

Site visits, structured conversations with management and the preparation of the written deliverable are conducted by the senior consultant directly. There is no delegation of client work to analysts or associates who were not part of the initial conversation.

The engagement closes with the delivery of the written document and a follow-up conversation, typically of thirty to sixty minutes, in which the principal can ask questions about what was written. After that, the engagement is formally complete.

Conducted directly by the senior consultant — property visit, interviews with general manager and relevant department heads.

The document is delivered and a closing conversation is held. The engagement is then formally complete.

Hospitality Operating Strategy Reading

A four-week engagement for established hotel groups, café operators and small luxury hospitality businesses in the Klang Valley whose leadership teams would value an outside reading of how the operation is presently positioned. The reading includes a property visit, structured conversations with the general manager and one or two department heads, and a short written summary of the questions worth considering further. The deliverable is purposely brief and held in strict confidence.

Food & Beverage Group Strategy Advisory

A considered engagement for established F&B groups operating multiple concepts in Kuala Lumpur and the wider Klang Valley. Over ten weeks we work with the principal and the head of operations to understand how the portfolio is presently performing, examine which concepts are carrying which costs, and prepare a written advisory on the shape of the group going into its next phase. The advisory is candid; the decisions remain with the firm.

Hospitality Asset & Group Continuity Advisory

A senior engagement for established hospitality groups whose principal owners are beginning to consider how the group will continue beyond their direct involvement — whether through internal succession, partnership with a strategic operator, or a measured sale. Over five to six months we sit with the principal and a small inner circle of trusted colleagues, set out the realistic options, and prepare a written framework for the conversations that will follow with lawyers, bankers and family members.

Confidentiality undertaking

A formal written confidentiality agreement is provided at the start of every engagement. All client information is treated as strictly private.

Fixed and transparent fees

Every engagement fee is stated on this site and confirmed in the written proposal. There are no additions, no billable hours and no variable charges.

Senior delivery only

Every site visit, interview and written deliverable is the direct work of the principal or named engagement associate — not sub-contracted or delegated.

Written as the standard

All findings and recommendations are delivered in writing. Verbal briefings supplement but do not replace the written document.

No implementation role

Suria Praxis advises; it does not manage, implement or take an ongoing operational role. This separation keeps our perspective independent throughout.

Post-engagement availability

After the engagement closes, we are available by email for brief clarifying questions about the written deliverable — for a period of three months, without additional fee.
